Brian Conrad’s Critiques
Stanford mathematics professor and director of Undergraduate Studies Brian Conrad has written a very thorough series of public comments about the framework, which are all available, complete with executive summaries, at the following website:
Data Science Letter
Over 400 California academics have signed this letter, explaining how the Data Science course proposed in the framework would not be the relevant preparation that proponents claim it to be.
Flexible pathways will be removed.
The video, presented by Lori Meyers, explains how the now-existing flexible math pathways through middle and high school may be changed according to the framework. There will be only one common pathway, all the way through middle school, and the pathways provided through high school curriculum do not allow for any flexibility with the pacing until 11th grade.
